  3. Larkspur Library: TED Talk Screening of “How to Separate Fact and Fiction Online," by Markham Nolan

    July 9, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

So how do we sort through what's fact or fiction online? Markham Nolan shares the investigative techniques he and his team use to verify information in real-time, to let you know if that Statue of Liberty image has been doctored or if that video leaked from Syria is legitimate.  Markham is the Senior Director of Editorial, Growth & Engagement at CBS Interactive's news division in New York City, overseeing the newsroom and directing and coordinating news efforts across all digital platforms. Previously, Markham was Managing Editor and then Head of Visual Storytelling at Vocativ, before which he spent three years building Storyful into the world's first social media news agency, ahead of its $25 million acquisition by NewsCorp.
