Duncan McCandless received his B.A. in Art History from Stanford University before becoming a landscape designer in Marin County. He moved to Europe where he began painting professionally and had a number of exhibitions, including in Paris. After his return to California, he has continued to travel extensively. These journeys have inspired many of his paintings. The intimate scale of his works enhances the breadth of his vision and conveys his inexhaustible affection for the grandeur of nature.
