Take the Tamalpais/Paradise Drive Exit; turn Right onto Tamalpais Drive and head West, toward downtown Larkspur. Tamalpais Drive soon merges into one lane, then winds around to the right (past "Stellar Spa") and for 1/4 of a block the street name changes to Redwood Ave. and you quickly come to a 4 way intersection, where you take a right onto Corte Madera Avenue. ,which soon becomes Magnolia Ave. Continue straight ahead into downtown Larkspur. The Library is located at the first stop sign, at the corner of King St. & Magnolia Avenue (400 Magnolia Ave.) across from St. Patrick's Church. The Library is on the First floor of the historic Larkspur City Hall building. Parking is limited to 3 spaces in front and 3 in the back of the building.
Heading North

Circulation Policies
Patrons must own a barcoded library card to check out, place holds, or renew items.
Items may be renewed by phone, or on the computer, once, and only if no one is waiting for the specific item.
To renew items, please provide the barcode of each item and your patron barcode number.
Fines are charged for overdue items: Adult materials are $.25 per day per item; Kids materials are $.10 per day per item.

The Larkspur Library received a statue
of their mascot created and designed by
Sally Lindsey. Ms. Lindsey is a wonderful
supporter of the Larkspur Library and shares
her creative talents throughout our community.

Library History

The Library is one of the main focal points of downtown Larkspur community and features unique collections of books that draw patrons from neighboring towns. The library's collection size is approximately 51,000.

The Library was founded in 1913 by the Larkspur Women's Improvement Club, spearheaded by Belle C. Brown.

The Library staff, Board, Foundation and Friends are committed to improving library service while keeping the library's small-town charm alive for all patrons to enjoy.
